I hate doing the "a rollback of trans rights is the gateway for a rollback of women's rights" thing because trans rights are human rights in and of themselves, whatever the impact on cis women. But goddamn I wish more cis women had a sense of history and self preservation.

Stopped at the gas station this morning for a snack and I was the only person in the store. I said to the checkout person "you look bored!" She agreed and said it's been really quiet lately. "Times are hard," I said. Another checkout person said "it's the gas prices!" I agreed that those are high.

Lizzie let me put her thundershirt on today before I left for work. She was super anxious last night - and it was a really big noisy storm, so I get it! She got me up about 30 minutes before the lightning started, and if she does that again I have to remember to offer her shirt right away.

Use this foolproof flowchart to figure out if you need more books. (Spoiler: you do.) The Friends of YDL Fall Book Sale starts tomorrow! 📖 Thursday | 6-8pm (Friends of YDL members only; memberships start at $10) 📖 Friday | 11am-5pm 📖 Saturday | 11am-3pm 📖 Sunday | 1-3pm
Flowchart titled 'Is there a problem?' with two paths. If yes, it asks 'Can books help?'—if yes, arrows point to four stacks of books (colorful spines, a ribbon-tied bundle, antique leather-bound books, and orange Penguin Classics); if no, it asks 'Are you sure?'—yes leads to the book stacks, no loops back to 'are you sure?' If the answer to 'Is there a problem' is no, the chart asks 'Are you sure?'—yes leads to 'you're right,' no leads to the book stacks. Text reads: 'really? not even gorgeous, mind-altering writing that makes you feel alive?' Ypsilanti District Library logo in the bottom corner.
