Genuinely hard to say which one flipped the switch. Battle Chess was my intro to "wait, you can games on computer?" but Maniac Mansion and Myst really locked in that games could be super engaging.

Cannot overstate this. It's like carpentry for the web. If you know carpentry and are willing to put in the effort, you can tweak your home how you like it. If you know frontend, same idea for the web. Similar gotchas too (if you're not as good as you think, it can turn into A Problem).

One place I used to work moved us from the second floor (our window did not face the lot) of one location to the *basement* of another... in a neighboring town. To be fair, the basement was *much* bigger so we got bigger desks, a second monitor each, and cabinets and stuff... which was nice.
