Let's not lose sight about the big picture here. Courts keep telling Trump that he's defying the constitution—trying to end-run Congress and the judiciary—to keep his top prosecutors in half a dozen states. All to have loyalists decide who to criminally charge with what in a DOJ under his thumb.

This Supreme Court allowed Alabama to keep killing people in 2022 after the state repeatedly botched its executions and left inmates on gurneys, cut up by needles. Of all the Roberts Court’s sins, its death penalty rulings have been especially nihilistic.

A couple quick observations here, which should be obvious. 1) insurance “risk pools” work by requiring younger/healthier people who make few or no claims to sign up and pay premiums alongside older/less healthy people who do, essentially covering their costs.
