I can’t believe we’re on track to miss another conservation target. It’s almost like multiple governments have passively or actively been ruining this since the moment the flashy headline first landed, and done nothing to improve the situation at any point.

Main cut and collect of grasslands at #AshlawnCuttingLNR continued today in unseasonable heat. We started South of Ashlan Rd. Bridge and the 5th picture shows the bridge under construction with thelast 2 showing the work area from the bridge itself including overwintering areas.

Artificial pitches rubber crumb infill used in artificial sports pitches is feeding into plastic pollution. Microplastics from these have been identified as one of the largest sources of intentionally added pollution (c16,000 tonnes released over a 20yr period).. fidra.org.uk/projects/mic...

It was neglected for 14 years but doing our basic work is allowing it to become more diverse. We're getting some guseful records as we go along,Bats via sound recording,Birds via ringing and Merlin app /obseevation,butterflies too,flora and now the brook.

We thought the fish is a Stickleback but I'm not sure now. Yeah we love the site,it's got a lot going for it.Including no public access. We'll be visiting to monitor the brook at least once a month and might be able to do a bit of scrub work while we're there. It

...we went to the South West corner for our last session before we start at Newbold quarry. Plenty to cut and rake off by the brook and around the Knapweed patch. Clumps of Knapweed left standing for next years butterflies to stand on!! .....

It's always good to see a Kestrel. This one was hunting over Kilsby Lane LWS when I got to the acess gate this morning. Rugby Wildife had a busy work party to look forward to, at the furthest point from this gate........
