We welcomed Sam Carling, MP for North West Cambs, to the Great Fen on Friday. He met our CEO Brian Eversham and Director of Conservation Matt Jackson at the site of our most recent wetland restoration work at New Decoy Farm and learnt about the importance of rewetting this peatland landscape.

👷‍♀️We lowered and enlarged an island at Lilbourne Meadows in Northants in August to benefit wading birds which love muddy edges where they can feed on insect larvae. 🐣Oystercatcher and little ringed plover have bred on the island since it was created.

🪩Disco the highland cow calf born last year in Northants. He's transformed into a moody teen with a spectacular fringe and is looking for love with some of the older females of the herd. 🤞No luck yet but there's plenty of time and lots of work to do on our reserves grazing wildflower meadows.
