New inflation data out today and wow what can you say about these Alberta car insurance rates other than ... wow. 😳
Car insurance prices in Alberta have far outpaced every other province

Alberta is now at an index value of more than 400. No other province is above 250.

An index value of 100 is equal to the average price for insurance in Canada over all 12 months of 2002.

Alberta’s grievances with Ottawa are mostly manufactured, always exaggerated and, often, completely illusory. Now it's time for the people who spent the last decade amplifying and weaponizing them to put out the fire they helped create. #cdnpoli #abpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2026/05/26/o...

Two line charts showing Alberta well ahead of every other province in terms of price inflation for auto insurance premiums (which have more than tripled since 2002) and home insurance premiums (which have increased more than sixfold).

On the "heroic" growth assumptions that you'd need to underpin revenue growth in the CPC platform: Mike here has done the work to show what kind of growth you'd need to assume--growth would have to nearly double. Doubling growth would be great! Cutting EV mandates etc. isn't gonna get you there.
