Stores in the Annex say the Bloor bike lanes have been a big boost to business. As Michelle Mackey reports, the neighborhood's BIA wants the province to back off its new bill that could see the lanes removed.

The UK’s largest water company said on Thursday it needed another short-term cash injection because it would be unable to reach a longer-term deal to sort out its giant debt pile before running out of cash by “the end of 2026 or the start of 2027”. These are remarkable statements. Rooney is a bestselling author and Faber is one of the world’s most famous and distinguished publishers. Surely this is an overreaction and a misunderstanding of the law? Or a publicity stunt of some kind?

Well, what is most remarkable about the statements is that Faber and Rooney have a point. Indeed, it is against the commercial interests of both to remove books from the marketplace, and for Faber to agree to do this implies the publisher must see a credible risk of legal liability. Faber is in the business of selling books rather than not selling them.
