Hey, thanks for trying the app, the OAuth flow goes to a bluesky domain for logging in, and uses them as the authentication provider. Blueview.app doesn't ever have access to your password. I hope that helps and puts your mind at ease a bit 🙂

Congrats Lars! 🎉 Can I confirm that the idea of this app is to fetch / refresh the profile information over a given period? Does it only show the profile info or is there other information? All I can see is my profile data and then sponsored profiles underneath. Is that right?

You aren't putting in a password to any third party using OAuth. The screen that you login with is a blueksy domain, not the third parties. The whole point of OAuth is that allows the user to login without a password in a secure way. 🙂 Its just the same as logging in with other social networks 👍🏻

My bluesky wrapped 2024. 🎁 Earlier on this month I gave blueview.app users the ability to make their own blueksy wrapped. It was a bit of a mixed bag as there were a lot of edge cases which I missed when fetching the data for the video. It was a great learning experience and a lot of fun to do. 😁

One of my favourite interactions on blueview.app is how the posts table and the preview works on desktop. It gives you a nice preview of full context of the post when you hover it on desktop. These little UI touches really make it a nice experience to use as a desktop user.

So for instance, with mine, you can see that posts made at 17:00 get a lot of engagement, which you could take as an indicator that would be a good time to post. 🙂

One of my favourite features of blueview.app is the 'catch up' section which lists all your replies which you havnt replied to yet. It makes it really easy to make sure you're not missing out on anything and keeping up to date. I use it all the time 😁. I love building products for myself.

Hey Max thanks for trying the app out. The login uses OAuth so you need to be logged in with your bluesky account. It doesn't use an app password. The login domain is a domain owned by bluesky, bsky.social. Logging in to bluesky will allow you through 🙂 Thanks again for trying it out!

I've found the best way is just to allow the user to search for their username, seeing as the data is public anyway. This really reduces the friction to the user. They don't even have to know their username. 🙂

Hey Dominik 👋🏻. I think it's a great idea. 🙂 I have a basic concept of a 'feeds' page (user based) on my app but not the ability to create and manage your own feeds. This is something I've been thinking about for a while but not 100% sure of the best way of implementing it. 🙂
