You could make Humboldt Park 10x nicer and less noisy by closing this tiny stretch of Humboldt Blvd. Access to all of the existing parking lots is maintained, but you completely eliminate cut through traffic and redirect cars around the park, not straight through the center.

"Lost control" might be generous considering how Villegas insists on using this meeting format, which encourages grandstanding and shouting matches. (CDOT does not normally use this format for exactly that reason.)

Dine Out on Broadway is coming to Lakeview this weekend! We used to have it every other weekend, but now it’s only once a month. When I’m alderman, I’ll make it more frequent and expand open streets to other places in the ward.

Like Abdul El-Sayed, @francescahongwi.bsky.social performed strongly in rural areas while failing to break through in big cities. This is pretty disappointing, but I think it also gives hints as to what a successful strategy might look like for DSA going forward.

Lots of people talking about @abdulelsayed.bsky.social's victory, but Donovan Mckinney also won in his primary for 13th House district in Detroit, defeating the incumbent. Very exciting. Bodes well for El-Sayed's chances in Detroit, which voted primarily for Stevens. They should campaign together.

This is always very funny to me because people who ride their bikes in winter are incredibly eager to tell you that they bike in winter. What's that joke about vegans? "How do you know if someone is a vegan?" "They'll tell you." It's like that. (It's me, I bike in the snow.)
