By heck Rustival is something special. The cars are amazing but more and more it's about the people. It's a safe space for so many, and especially those with crippling social anxiety. They know they'll be welcome here. Some of them do amazing things now they're comfortable. It's just incredible.

This week's car is the base-grade #SubaruWRX. Rides rougher than the tS, but it's still lots of fun. It's also neat to have a non-Subaru boxer-engine manual sedan in the driveway alongside it. I suppose, in its way, the Alfa 33 is a spiritual ancestor, though mine isn't an all-wheel-drive one.

Part is being older, for sure. But hyper-popular pop hasn't evolved much in about two decades and much of the Hot 100 is basically autotuned "Easy listening." It's dull. Go listen to the top 10 Hot 100 songs. With 1 or 2 exceptions, you could string them all together into one medley and not know.

The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.

"Maximizing shareholder value" at all costs has broadly made many American companies worse, less competitive and less innovative while also driving down wages, which hurts consumer spending and product development. It's just a misguided idea.

It's a Fiat Samantha, or it was. The Samantha, like the earlier Eveline, was a Vignale-built Coupe version of a standard Fiat family cars, in this case the big 125. At some point - I'm guessing the early 1980s - somebody "restyled" the front and added the side skirts.
