The exhaustion from Rustival wore off at 4:30am yesterday. Now I'm just back to the default of fairly tired. Did a bit too much yesterday which didn't help but when the local scrapyard says they have something interesting in, they're rarely wrong.

Ah bus travel. A 2025 Volvo which is fairly pleasant, but the destination computer hasn't been set up and shouts INPUT 1 every time the doors shut.

The rise of anti-Semitism at universities is a concern - blame the state not the individuals. But, some perspective. The increase is from 83 to 95. Across the entirely of the UK, that is still not very much. Doesn't stop those 95 cases being wrong but is it really news?

By heck Rustival is something special. The cars are amazing but more and more it's about the people. It's a safe space for so many, and especially those with crippling social anxiety. They know they'll be welcome here. Some of them do amazing things now they're comfortable. It's just incredible.

Rustival is this Saturday! We've had a seriously busy day getting everything ready. Great guests, great cars (about 850 of them) and two museum buildings to explore! There's a reason folk turn up early to this one (no earlier than 7:30am please!). Tickets from the British Motor Museum.

Strange coincidence isn't it? Trump starts a war in Iran, oil prices rocket up. Which helps fund the Russian war on Ukraine. But it's entirely unrelated that the Russians funded Trump's son's wedding. Absolutely. Stuff ordinary folk just trying to get by.

TikTok has changed closed captions for the worse. I watched a lot of Spanish content with English subtitles - it's a great way of accidentally learning. Now this isn't possible. Rubbish.

Just had a think. If I could buy any car sub-£2000, what would it be? And I really can't decide. The combination of waft and practicality is key, preferably with a max tow weight of at least 2000kg.

Aussies call it the TC, a code used in Europe too. It stands for Taunus Cortina because they were becoming such a joint project. Amusingly, in Australia, the facelifted TC Cortina was called the TD. Which stood for nothing. The MK4 Cortina was the TE. The Mk5 was the TF but only lasted one year.
