Coverage of upcoming repair of two essential footbridges crossing the M8 and M77 motorways in the Kinning Park area of Glasgow. These footbridges have been closed for two years. Just got an emergency alert for wildfires. Pop up, horrible siren noise and then it read aloud. In case useful, to find the alert again after you've hit OK and it vanishes. You can find it again inside Settings > Emergency Alerts > Alerts History.

I wouldn't call myself a cartoonist, but I had the vision and just needed it to be on paper to the best of my ability.

This sort of thing is the impact of stigmatising mobility aids - the whole thread as well as Martin's story. I didn't use a stick for ages cos I thought my arm wouldn't hack it. Hip spanged and I bought an emergency £6 walking pole to get me to a friend's wedding and my then zero hours job.

Think a key point NSUN makes here is one of *context*, of increasing regression and authoritarianism. DoLs are a sticking plaster over the carceral state and legalism. But the 'answer' is not to remove safeguards and trust the state to 'do the right thing' about matters of consent and freedom.
