I mostly don't care about gasoline prices because I'm taking the bus and the bus is AWESOME. And CHEAP. I sure do love public transportation. When I take trips for work or vacation, I get all nerdy and excited about the public transportation at my destination. 🚌

Reuters got some of the IPO docs. Anthropic is a total dog of a company. Spent $12.6bn to make $4.6bn in revenue in 2025, $7.33bn of which was compute costs. Operating loss of $8bn. Losses getting worse year over year. Amazing stuff www.reuters.com/business/fin...
Summary
Companies
• Anthropic IPO could value the company at more than $2
trillion
• Anthropic lost $42 billion in 2025
• Al lab spent $7.33 billion on compute and infrastructure last year
• Operating loss widened to $8.06 billion in 2025 from $2.98 billion in 2024
• Execs, industry analysts have expressed concerns over harms of Al tech
Sept 28 (Reuters) - Anthropic is making a massive bet that Al will transform the global economy more profoundly than industrialization, electricity and the internet, according to its IPO prospectus seen by Reuters.
But the cost to get there will be staggering. Anthropic reported a net loss of $42 billion in 2025, and plans to spend $518 billion on cloud, computing and infrastructure obligations in coming year, according to the
prospectus.

Mothership Strategies is pitching Google's new policy allowing PACs to bypass Gmail spam filters as a "HUGE opportunity." They are promising qualifying clients "guaranteed placement in Gmail inboxes" and predicting "massive spikes in email fundraising."
Email from info@mothershipstrategies.com

"Hey!
Google just announced a whopper.
Beginning September 8th, Gmail is bringing back their Verified Sender Program for campaigns, committees and PACs. Programs that are prepared will get guaranteed placement in Gmail inboxes and could see massive spikes in email fundraising in the final sprint to Election Day.
To be blunt, this is a HUGE opportunity – but registering alone isn’t enough.
Qualifying, remaining in good standing, and scaling your Gmail program safely takes an airtight strategy. Authentication, complaint rates, domain reputation, and sending practices will matter even more than ever. Get those wrong, and the benefit will be minimal.
Wondering how to implement? Want to learn how to maximize your results? We’ve got answers.
Get in touch today: get-started@mothershipstrategies.com
In 2022, many campaigns signed up for the Verified Sender Program but didn’t see any change in performance because they didn’t know how to take advantage or adhere to the guidelines.
That’s why getting this right is critical.
Learn from the experts: Contact us at get-started@mothershipstrategies.com by Friday, August 21st at 5PM and we’ll prioritize your campaign.
77 days to go. Don’t wait!

The business model of spam fundraising depends on hooking a group of elderly donors who give at a disturbing frequency, summing to sizable amounts. Most of them don't appear especially wealthy. I've compiled a handful of these cases. There are thousands of cases like these in the FEC data. 🧵
A data graphic detailing recurring political donations by a 79-year-old Kansas resident charged 45,331 times since 2018 for a total of $153,856. The top timeline chart shows daily donation frequency from November 2019 through December 2020, highlighting a sharp increase leading up to the 2020 election that peaked at 352 charges in a single day. The bottom horizontal bar chart lists the top 12 recipient committees out of 485 total—led by the Congressional Black Caucus PAC ($7,521 across 2,250 charges), NDTC, and Stop Republicans—noting that the 10 largest recipients represent only 24% of all contributions, with the remainder dispersed across hundreds of PACs, party committees, and candidates.

#ResistanceRoots Amzie Moore was born on this day in 1911 in Grenada County, Miss. He was a civil rights leader and entrepreneur who believed in quiet leadership. He used his businesses to strengthen local Black power, protect activists and build infrastructure that helped support the movement. /1
Amzie Moore, 1963. Photo by Harvey Richards. Moore chose behind-the-scenes organizing over the public spotlight. Rather than delivering televised speeches, his leadership model focused on building local power and enduring severe risks over decades to create lasting systemic change. Moore believed that true empowerment meant giving local citizens the tools to lead themselves. He used his gas station and home as sanctuaries for activists. He persevered by maintaining psychological fortitude against constant threats and finding ways to sustain his businesses when white supremacists tried to bankrupt him. He also understood that progress is incremental and that true civil rights required a holistic approach. He spent his final decades ensuring that the people he had helped register to vote had roofs over their heads, schools for their children and the political platforms required to control their own destiny.
