It's SO depressing that I don't know if it'll even be satisfying when the legislature comes to its senses and goes back to being all in on renewables

Like yeah, obviously renewables are gonna beat the pants off the competition, but watching them do that while they get beat with a plank over the head every month isn't fun.

Tbh, last year was an exciting and interestingly weird year for US solar legislation (bad, but exciting), but this year the renewables news is just fucking depressing all the time.

TikTok actually increased the number of articles you have to submit in order to request verification, and Instagram rejected my request 😒

I've gotten a bunch of requests from people to use my arc flash video in their internal training, and the answer is yes! Downloads are now available on my website for this purpose, for free or by donation. solarboi.com/2026/09/02/i...

I bought an iPhone 17 Pro about a month ago, expecting that there'd be a significant price hike with the 18 Pro, but only $100 increase, even when upgrading storage. I still don't think I regret it. The 17 Pro is an awesome phone

000

why doesn't the iphone duo run macos

But, that calculus might change with electric cars. Though I think the better option there is to incentivize particular charging times, rather than adding batteries for surges

000

Like the other guy said, transformers are usually way oversized in this application, so it's like being worried that a commercial-grade extension cord will get worn out by constantly powering a desk lamp.

oh no i just realized i scheduled an eye exam right in the middle of the apple event, darn it

Yo the guy that helped me during the arc flash incident is in my YouTube comments, giving details from his perspective. SOME PEOPLE HEARD IT FROM 4 MILES AWAY 😳😳😳

When you're eating banana or zucchini bread, just absolutely slather it in butter. Trust me, and don't worry about your arteries, they'll understand

Still! Grateful to be alive, and generally in good spirits. Just gotta acknowledge the significance of the incident sometimes

I mean I'm still in the healing phase, the incident was only about 8 weeks ago. Can do a bunch of things, and I think I'll get back almost if not all the use of my hands, but I'm pretty uncomfortable still

Man, watching myself recount the arc flash incident in the full video (soon to be released) lets me remember what it was like much more clearly than pulling it out of my own memory. What a terrible, awful nightmare.

Oh interesting. Don't turkeys roost? Chickens would be a terrible idea because they fly up and poop on the modules all the time, but maybe turkeys are different

The most transformative thing I've learned about computers in the last two years is that option/alt + mouse drag = duplicate, almost universally across any app I try it on. It's so awesome. Just tried it in a calendar app.

It's so silly how even traumatic injuries sort of have a novelty to them. I dunno if that's true for anyone else but it's true for me

Watching reactions to the Slate truck has been... weird. I didn't expect people to completely forget the lower cost of ownership angle to electric vehicles so quickly but they apparently have. Many comparisons between it and Ford's current Maverick on purchase price and nothing else! The fuck!

The thing that really sucks about burning all the skin off your hands is that after the skin grows back, you still have zero calluses. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW SENSITIVE YOUR FINGERS ARE WITH ZERO CALLUSES 🤣
