Trying to buy a household product from one of these trendy eco everything online retailers and I CANNOT ACTUALLY BUY IT! I can only seem to buy a "bundle" of other shit I don't need, and it requires me to sign up to a subscription which may or may not contain the product I actually want. NOPE!

Some hair-raising situations in here - the unregulated US surrogacy market means the "purchasing parents" can "commission" large numbers of babies, for example. Article touches on the the impact on the children; I'd like to understand more about that, though it's probably very hard to write about.

Can anyone explain to my why AI illustrations make my skin crawl so badly? (you know the sort, every second LinkedIn post uses them - even from people I actually respect 😭) I don't *think* it's purely ideological, although I admit to a strong prejudice - it feels more visceral than that.

Sorry for shouting but... THE ENTIRE POINT OF CCS IS TO ENABLE MORE FOSSIL FUEL USE. That it captures jack shit doesn't matter. All fossil fuel interests need to do is claim that the emissions their extraction produces will be removed from the atmosphere. At some point. Somehow.

I think this one is still burning, and has been joined by a bigger one across the road on Llangattock Mountain. I'm about 40km east, and unfortunately for me (and the many thousands of other people whose turn it is tonight) the wind is in the west, so once again windows closed, ventilation off.
