Rent hikes aren't just forcing people into homelessness. They can also be a death sentence.

Unaffordable rents are linked to premature death, Princeton study finds

Annie Nova
KEY POINTS
• Renters burdened by unaffordable housing costs may be at a higher risk of dying sooner, according to a new study published in the journal Social Science & Medicine.
• An individual paying 50% of their income toward rent in 2000 was 9% more likely to die over the next 20 years compared with someone paying 30% of their income toward rent, the researchers found.

i like all this discourse about trump being elon's puppet/lap dog/little bitch because calling trump a fascist/"existential threat to democracy"/whatever makes him seem like he's tough or decisive, but calling him a lap dog attacks his masculinity which might actually motivate him.

Trump's walk back on lowering prices is a media failure

He was lying all along and got away with it.

how much are you guys paying for christmas trees? last 6-7 years we’ve gone to a tree lot in our neighborhood and spent $60-70 for 7 ft douglas firs and $80-$90 on 7 ft nobles. that lot did not open this year :( go to a different lot— $120 for 5 ft nobles! no douglas at all.

Unusually, this year's Spotify Wrapped doesn't make me seem like such a strange lil freak. Still some Swedish indie pop on there tho, so I've not completely beaten the allegations.

My Top Artists this year:
1. Hozier (because I'm a certified Sad Boi™)
2. Den svenska björnstammen (why am I like this)
3. Novo Amor (so soothing wow)
4. Kishi Bashi (my best friend)
5. The Beaches (I'm queer)

My Top Songs:
1. "Like Real People Do," Hozier
2. "Better Now (feat. Rae Morris)," Bombay Bicycle Club, Rae Morris
3. "Blame Brett," The Beaches
4. "Edge of the Earth," The Beaches
5. "Years On." Novo Amor
