Unfortunately, with the construction of the Land O' Lakes Center for Excellence, all the athletic offices are much more difficult to get to, if not impossible. You need a key card for everything. So, I might not be successful this time around. But if I can find someone to ask, I will.

In 2014, I did the same thing. I went to the football office and asked if I could see it, but someone had to take me to the equipment room. I could tell the managers were a little annoyed with me, but they let me hold it and I got another picture. Moral of the story: sometimes you just gotta ask.

If you are wondering how I got to hold the Jug twice, I just went to the football office in Bierman and asked to see it. In 2006 they just brought it out to the front desk and let me hold it. Someone in another room yelled, "Don't mess up the paint! We just put the score on!" So I carefully held it.

Shoot, it was a woodchuck, not a beaver. My wife got a pretty good shot, and zooming in helps identify it. Probably makes more sense. This little dude was hanging out right across the mill canal.

A woodchuck, a member of the rodent family. It’s a little chunky so it is doing a good job getting ready for hibernation.

It is disheartening how many people seem to think that the U deserves this, or that we can cut and cut and cut without negative ramifications. I think the Trump admin attacks on higher ed are working, and infecting even left leaning folks. We should be angry. I certainly am. Angry and depressed.

I think we as Minnesotans need to focus on fighting for our university. Decreased state funding, the enrollment cliff, disappearing grant funding, international student limitations, Trump admin attacks have all left us reeling. This will negatively impact Minnesota. We need a strong U.
