The MPS proposal is awful 💩 All 3 of my kids attended Loring, it is simply a fantastic neighborhood elementary school. At one point or another, I've had a kid attend Jenny Lind, FAIR, Olson, Camden. All are excellent schools with knowledgeable, caring faculty, that serve very diverse communities.

Worth reading the whole intro to MN Reformer's newsletter today, good response to the Chamber. These people/businesses are absolute trash.

Press release this morning:

“The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce announced today that it received the National Association of State Chambers’ inaugural Pathfinder Award for demonstrating extraordinary service to their members and leadership in their communities for its role in convening state, local and federal leaders to deescalate tensions during Operation Metro Surge.”

But do us a favor and don’t claim credit for the real sacrifices made by Minnesotans and small businesses that put 4th Amendment signs on their doors.

Nonprofits using term "housing provider" instead of "landlord" are part of the problem. Doesn't matter if you don't like shady historical connotations—besides many other issues, it's a defined legal term, so it matters. Thanks Ed Goetz for this great overview: www.commondreams.org/opinion/land...

We don’t call Exxon an “oil provider,” nor do we call GM an “automobile provider.” We don’t even call the corner mom-and-pop store a “grocery provider.” There is no reason to accept the kind of politically motivated doublespeak behind the rise of “housing provider.”

Every time we hear "The homeless people didn't use the resources we offered," the next questions should be "What specific resources did you offer? Were they actually meant to be helpful to people you claim to want to help? Did you offer actual shelter? Did it accommodate couples? Pets? Wet or dry?"
