How many students were kicked off their campuses for protesting this stuff? It's not just the psychotic openly genocidal propaganda, it's that the people in power in the US made it so that if you criticize this openly, your life could be destroyed.

If we must talk about “what’s wrong with higher ed,” surely this — fomo-based decisions about LLMs or other kinds of edtech, to say nothing of appeasement of anti-higher ed forces — is a much bigger deal than endlessly-trotted-out red herrings like “woke” and “ideological imbalance.”

Both the Economist and others suggest this study demonstrates that AI can help students. So I contacted the lead researcher to figure out how many. Answer: Out of ~26,000 kids, a total of 20. And five months after starting to use AI, only four continued to spend 65 minutes on homework. Four.
Graph of student exam scores correlated to homework completion time for to groups, students using AI and those that did not. There is a slight spike for studens using AI who also maintained extensive homework completion time. As described in post, the number of students falling into this bucket was 20 out of 26,000.

The point isn't to produce essays, it's to teach students how to think for fuck's sake. The minute you automate that, it's over. You might as well close the course. Which they're also doing. This is an attack on learning, and everyone is just shrugging.
