Public Domain Art is the lifeblood of small tabletop rpgs, but it can be a nightmare trying to find the right art and license. This week, I’ve re-uploaded my old list from 2020 (with updates) of public domain websites. That's 500,000+ public domain paintings, photos, maps, and film. Link below 🔗👇

None of this is surprising! With Bryant and I, it pointed out that we read a lot and spend a crapton of money on our cats. Shocker!

Good times! I didn’t connect well with Hillfolk’s mechanics - maybe the token economy works better for me on a much smaller scale? The formalism that was overwhelming in a group is a lot of fun in a duo game.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

There is no "platform" and no one on this site can honestly say that they know what they would do if they win the House and/or Senate starting in January. What's the immediate first order of business, for example? No voter can say. It has not been communicated to anyone.

When I was getting my Library Science masters (so 2003-2005), one big concern was that users would use Google and Wikipedia and never push further. We talked about how to verify sources, how to track references, how to evaluate. These days, I don't know. When it's layers upon layers of lies, how?

The international chess Federation banned trans women from playing women's chess. CHESS. It's not about fairness. The fairness argument is intended to radicalize people into more violent forms of transphobia.

I’m solidly Gen X - I always assumed something big and geopolitical would take us all out. That was the assumption. 9/11 felt like the beginning of the end. When we went back to work it took over an hour to get on base, given car searches. Everything changed. Look at us now.

On the way back to our apartments, my friend asked to stop by a store to get a little flag for her balcony. We did that, said our farewells, and then I watched TV for three solid days. We didn’t go back to work for a week.

I walked through the nearly-empty exhibits with no idea what to do, peering into trash cans and empty spaces as if something might actually be lurking there. We were sent home soon after. My closest work friends and I went to a nearby taco place to have a drink. The TV was on. No one spoke.

On 9/11, I was working in a federal museum adjoining a military base. The news swept through the staff in a series of shocked whispers, and then all of us were dispatched to walk around the museum and look for anything out of place or suspicious. I remember feeling completely divorced from my body.

This Greg Hurwitz mook has written two produced screenplays. The first one made a booming $4.5 million and the second one was direct to Netflix with a 24% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. To be fair he’s successful as a novelist. But as a screenwriter? Dude, sit down and shut up.

Every one of those brave and inspiring people you hear about on the news was exhausted and terrified the whole time. They were sad and angry and wanted to crawl into a hole and not come out. They wished they could have stayed in bed. Then they did it anyway. But they did it scared and sad and tired.
