The new book in the Ninth House series is ready for me at the library but I have NO IDEA what happened in the second one and don't have time to re-read.

North Country, by K.A. Tucker. ★★★★☆ I enjoyed this one - a bit light on the romantic suspense than others in the genre, but it was a decent take on the 'reunited couple' trope overall. Plus, it was nice to see Northern Ontario representation in romance novels. Overall enjoyable. #booksky

Netflix Canada is getting "past episodes" (online sleuths tell me its only from the 2020s) of Days of our Lives. This still feels like huge news for a show that's been relatively protective over old stuff.

I recently learned that american banks don’t really allow easy account transfers which is why things like venmo exist and it’s fascinating to me. And people keep that stuff public?! That’s wild - you people live like this?!

#OLTL Oct 01. I feel like Asa's upcoming fake death should've had an extra twist in it. Like, he should get so annoyed at Todd's antics here that he decides to frame him and Blair instead of Max altogether. A real, 'you come at the king you best not miss' situation.

The insta algorithm gave me a video of a lady complaining that the Braves game was at 2pm so that they couldn’t do the wildly racist tomahawk chop alongside a light show at night. Today is Truth and Reconciliation Day in Canada.

Widow's Bay was excellent, I'm glad I pushed through (honestly, the 2nd ep with the clown is probably the one that made me question things). A solid, scary tale that's decent at weaving together various horror tropes and homages to John Carpenter, Stephen King, and even Jaws.

It is INSANE that they didn't get her back until 2008. It's terribly sad to watch 1989 & see how she was professionally impacted by her stalker. And I'm still hugely pissed that her in memoriam at the Emmys only listed Passions. Andrea Evans' Tina was everything a soap character should be.

Gonna try watching Widow’s Bay in the daytime, because I just can’t let a show that does this go. “Did they immediately turn to cannibalism? No, it took four days.”

Giving Widow’s Bay a shot. On ep 2 and it’s suitably creepy (maybe a tad too much for me).

#OLTL Sep 01. Gabrielle: I don't love Max, I hate him. I could never love him again. Al: It's too late. If I could give out a retroactive Most Improved award, it'd probably go to this Max/Gabrielle storyline. It's not fabulous, but ever since Al's accident it's been about 5 times soapier.

Muppet Family Christmas is basically impossible to re-release today because the Muppets and Sesame Street now belong to separate competing corporate oligarchs. Crazy how "Ernie meets Kermit" would today be a billion-dollar IP negotiation and in 1987 it's just Jim Henson going "well, I got two hands"

You know what I think of an absurd amount? That time when Toronto Police said that the concept/term “serial killer” was invented by the media and didn’t exist when they stumbled into catching the man who had been targeting and killing gay men in the city. That was, like, less than 10 years ago.

#OLTL Sep 01. Todd: I came to get [Starr's] Bride of Frankenstein doll. Because I want her to have a doll that's exactly like her mother. The thing with having Todd constantly insult Blair to her face (and pine when she's gone) is that the story is so dragged out that it becomes nothing but insults
