Hi. USian from Michigan here. Michiganders are so stubborn about names that when they renamed Pine Knob to “DTE Energy Music Theater”, we all just kept on calling it Pine Knob for like 20 years until, I’m pretty sure, they formally changed it back. None of us have beef with Canada; he’s a jackass.

My not-so-hot take is that what Mamdani is doing *IS* incrementalism, and the bar is so deeply in hell that a politician just doing *anything* good consistently is a total anomaly for people. And I think for now that is good and fine, because it is restoring people’s faith that better is possible.
