Diesel futures fell after Trump announced a “massive” European oil release.⁣ ⁣ Then traders read the actual G7 statement, and the entire price move vanished.⁣ ⁣ Turns out the massive release was mostly a PR stunt. newsletter.platypuseconomics.com/p/…

MEXICO TREE SIT IS LIVE AGAIN!!!
...
For immediate release:
Tuesday 10/6/2026
This morning at camp o: shad, before sunrise, a land defender climbed a cottonwood tree that straddles the supposed border between the US and Mexico.
This is the same tree that was previously occupied by demonstrators from the Mexican side resulting in the first ever bi-national tree sit campaign. This tree sit has been reestablished and is now halting construction once again. We call her "Abuela". She is the last of the of the ancient cottonwoods that stands in the path of construction.
5 land defenders were arrested this morning reestablishing and defending this action.
Camp o: shad remains strong and will not be deterred by state violence or intimidation.
There is an urgent need for people at camp RIGHT NOW to show solidarity and support the efforts of people on the ground who fight to defend the land and protect the sacred.

Gloria Steinem pushed open doors not just for herself, but for literally millions of women behind her.

She wasn’t going to be an astronaut, but she made it possible for Sally Ride to be an astronaut. She wasn’t going to play college sports, but she stood behind the women in Congress who passed Title IX. And she wasn’t on the Supreme Court when Roe v. Wade was decided, but her voice and her activism was behind that advancement for women's rights.

Gloria was, at heart, an optimist. Her activism was rooted in optimism, and that’s a moral choice she made every day.

I want her voice to remain in our heads. It’s wonderful to do what you can to further your own future, to get the best education you can, and to pursue your dreams. But it’s even better to bring other people along with you.

Question for palliative care colleagues or patients/families/friends. Do you have a support group for people who are dying? Not a death cafe or group for carers, but peer support for people living knowing that in the next few months they will likely die? I’m feel there’s a need but need more info.
