Daily bunny no.2899 sees you trespassing

A bunny stands on the edge of the wall of an old-fashioned mansion. Ivy is growing over the wall, and there is a statue of an angel; the mansion might be abandoned! It is dusk out, and the bunny on the edge of the wall is backlit, looking directly at the viewer

if you think that "no one is protesting this time" it says less about what's happening in the world and more about your media consumption habits and how the news media is lying to you.

I’m the Canadian who was detained by Ice for two weeks. It felt like I had been kidnapped

I was stuck in a freezing cell without explanation despite eventually having lawyers and media attention. Yet, compared with others, I was lucky

its the way the manuscript is ab the transformative power of songwriting and the magic created in the universality of a very specific pain/experience that resonates so well with so many people... "at last she knew what the agony had been for" indeed 🫠

quick little catullus translation

c. 70

Nūllī sē dīcit mulier mea nūbere mālle
quam mihi, nōn sī sē Iuppiter ipse petat.
Dīcit: sed mulier cupidō quod dīcit amantī,
in ventō et rapidā scrībere oportet aquā.

My woman says that she doesn’t want to get married
to anyone but me, not even if Jupiter himself sought her.
So she says: but what a woman says to her smitten lover
should be written on the wind and on swift-moving water.

thinking about this hubble image again it’s so beautiful image credit: ESA/Hubble & NASA, R. Fedriani, J. Tan

A nebula with stars. Dense clouds of dust and gas cover the left-hand side and a filament crosses the centre horizontally. Billowing streams of gas and dust in various colours emerge from around the centre. The very centre of the image is permeated with glowing orange regions. Many blue stars with cross-shaped spikes lie in the foreground, and small point-like stars are visible beyond the clouds

How to filter out AI Images in Google Image Search. Sharing this with my students so I figured I'd also share it with everyone here. Hopefully this image is still relevant given Google's changes. Save this on your computer or phone and refer to it as needed.

HOW TO FILTER OUT AI IMAGES IN GOOGLE IMAGES

When you type something add the following minus keywords: -ai, -prompt

Since AI movement increased highly in 2022, use "before:" like before:2021 (VERY effective)

The following keywords will affect and should decrease amounts of AI imagery appearing on your search.

Create, not scrape!
