I hope another lesson learned from the Cornell case is that college students can’t just “go to the police.” A lot of public and elite private universities have their own police departments with exclusive jurisdiction over their campus. So going to the police still means reporting to your school.

Today dispatch from drawing class: we have switched gears to ink, which I love but am decades out of practice with.

The whole page of ink practice, done with 3 sizes of brushes, a bamboo pen and a nib pen with a small round nib. This is a mix of doodles and lettering, hatching, brush control practice, washes and two actual drawings, one a dog with a ball and the other a small sketch of trees along a lakeshore.

Still waiting for the pre auth for the med that is the difference between a daily 7-9 on the pain scale and my treated level of 3-5. Started the process in July. Out of meds for a month now. The joint pain and swelling is spiking. Time to get my cane out again.

I know a young adult who wants to transition, views themselves as trans, and is choosing not to pursue it yet because the climate is too toxic and unsafe. They are clinging to examples of women who transitioned as adults. Because that looks like their future. I hope they get to.

Made chickpea and tofu salad for lunch. Started with a can of "Greek style" chickpeas from Aldi. Added a block of firm tofu, half a sweet onion, turmeric, homemade tofu based mayo, black salt, white pepper, tarragon, basil, dry cilantro, and a little pickle relish. Ate with sourdough toast. Yum.

Had to call a customer service line for my pharmacy yesterday. I'm really good at speaking Robot. I hate that I am, but it helps. Made it thru the bot to an actual person, even. Speaking Robot also helps with spam calls. If you sound like a machine has answered, the machine that called hangs up.
