Jaws. I was tiny, my aunt (18) and uncle (15) were babysitting, and *they* wanted to see it. About the point the tiny kid gets eaten through the yellow floaty, I was under the seats and crawling away, uphill. After, they found me pressed against the back wall, still under a seat.

I hope another lesson learned from the Cornell case is that college students can’t just “go to the police.” A lot of public and elite private universities have their own police departments with exclusive jurisdiction over their campus. So going to the police still means reporting to your school.

Today dispatch from drawing class: we have switched gears to ink, which I love but am decades out of practice with.

The whole page of ink practice, done with 3 sizes of brushes, a bamboo pen and a nib pen with a small round nib. This is a mix of doodles and lettering, hatching, brush control practice, washes and two actual drawings, one a dog with a ball and the other a small sketch of trees along a lakeshore.

The medication is a biologic, btw. I have never had any prescription pain relief of any kind, even at the worst. It makes it so I don't need ibuprofen 24/7, and keeps my hands and feet from stiffening into useless claws.

Still waiting for the pre auth for the med that is the difference between a daily 7-9 on the pain scale and my treated level of 3-5. Started the process in July. Out of meds for a month now. The joint pain and swelling is spiking. Time to get my cane out again.

Update: they had, in fact, run fiber past her house so they said yes. Bad: install was delayed by a couple weeks because of the heat dome + rural house set far back. Good: the install went ahead Wednesday. They have their phone back. Mom can barely believe how much better it is than AT&T.
