i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

The Heritage Foundation laid out how they were going to rescind Title IX, the law that prohibits sex discrimination in education, by first targeting trans people's participation in sport. Capitulating on the human rights of transgender people is catastrophically falling at the first hurdle.

An important thing we’ve been practicing for YEARS already with our 3 year old twin boys. “Can I give you a kiss?” And if they say “no” we don’t give them a damn kiss. They now ask us, too, and we practice that it’s okay to be disappointed and also FINE if we ever say no. This is about Cornell.

Meanwhile, the exact same oligarchs who are controlling MAGA are controlling the whole post-MAGA Tucker thing. Anyone being duped by this is at least unwittingly wanting to be duped by it. It's utterly transparent and anyone who has even glanced at fascist political cycles knows what this is.

the cult of the superior machines is inherently a patriarchal cult (like nearly all cults in recorded history) its theology classifies “AI” systems as either wives (systems that exist to serve and empower Great Men) or Gods (theoretical future systems, male-coded, that become the Great Men)

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”
APStylebook @APStylebook

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

By the time this merger ruins HBO, destroys WB, gets 5,000 people fired, moves production overseas, and guts the quality of the movies the new studio makes, most people will have forgotten how fast the AGs caved and how little they got in this deal. Writers will not.

Did Bonta get ANYTHING from Ellison? Because the 30-films-a-year deal that is being reported has been promised for months, and the "editorial board" overseeing CBS and CNN means nothing without teeth. To me it sounds like Ellison threatened to move Paramount out of CA, and Bonta and Newsom folded.
