Day 29: Get offer for 2nd pref job (moneywise) by phone while waiting for Centrelink phone call. During call see offer land in my email. While on hold as Centrelink do their not-talking-to-me-thing, get 'No' email from 1st preference job. Get told no jobseeker for 13 weeks. Send 'Yes' to contract. 😌

Just got a, "This isn't a no," email from a job I interviewed for a few weeks ago. It's a positive sign. I'm currently applying and interviewing for other jobs, but really want this one. It's also the one that is likely to have an even more extended time frame for the final decision.

I had a bit of a shit week, personally. Being reminded over and over that this amazing human existed, even though no more, has made things a little better. I don't believe in an afterlife, but if there was a deity, and it was loving, I'd hope it had the red carpet and all the perks ready for her.

my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.

We’re going to hear about how everyone loved Dolly, and that feels true. But it’s good to remember, and to her credit, that she was attacked for her AIDS activism, her vaccine advocacy, her LGBTQ+ support and even, more recently, for her reading initiatives. She ALWAYS stood firm when it mattered.
