Shoebridge vs Albo If Labor was still the party of Gough, we would vote for it. But Labor is not left. Labor is the party of the fossil fuel industry. The party of the gambling lobby. The party of the Israel lobby. It's not left. Shoebridge is the new leader of the left with the Greens. #auspol

We watched 42 7.30 interviews and one of the things we noticed was the language used to describe certain atrocities. The strongest and most graphic language was exclusively reserved for describing the killing of Israelis, a pattern we see in newsrooms around the world.

"ABC's 7.30 aired 24 interviews with Israelis, almost all of them broadly supportive of Netanyahu. In other words, not only were Israeli perspectives aired six times as often as Russians - they were overwhelmingly pro-government. In contrast, Russian perspectives were overwhelmingly anti-government"

Australian government concedes no scientific consensus on social media harms for teenagers – but ‘credible risks’ justify ban
Commonwealth tells high court its proposed laws to let users opt out of algorithms would ultimately have the same effect as the ban * Get our breaking news email, free app or daily news podcast The Australian government has conceded it implemented the “world-leading” under-16s social media ban before there was scientific consensus on the link between mental health harms and social media use, but argued the “credible risks” of issues such as addictive behaviours and anxiety justify the policy. In its defence against a high court challenge of the ban, the government has also argued its proposed digital duty of care legislation, allowing users to opt out of social media features such as algorithms, would ultimately have the same effect as the ban, if implemented.
