everyone replying to this post needs to log the fuck off and touch grass. Machine learning was a part of T&S for decades before you ever heard the term "generative AI". If you've ever complained about "all the bots on Bluesky, they should do something", the "something" you're asking for is ML.

Under colonial occupation there’s no such thing as a ceasefire. The only thing that comes close to it is a temporary pause of systematic death & destruction or a relocation of this violence as we’re seeing in the West Bank. Colonial violence only ends with the end of colonialism.

I want people to understand this. For many of them, democracy ended when Obama was elected twice and Black Lives Matter rose to prominence. This is them “fixing” a system that felt broken and newly unsafe to them.

NCMEC is tracks the distribution of CSAM — child sex abuse material— online. On Twitter. On Reddit. On dating sites. On adult. I’ve had my issues with them but that the GOP would defund the work if they refuse to comply with Trump’s transphobic erasure orders is shocking and appalling.

SCOOP: Cats that became infected with bird flu might have spread the virus to humans in the same household and vice versa, according to data that briefly appeared online in a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention but then abruptly vanished. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/06/h...

The things that he said are horrible. But if saying them is a reason to slink off into the shrubbery, what about this guy's boss? Elon Musk has said many stunningly racist, transphobic, antisemitic, misogynist (and super-stupid) things.

Thinking of Frank O'Hara's "Biotherm (For Bill Berkson)" and how poetry resists the dominant culture/s by riffing off its absurdity while also drawing historical language and idioms into present context. Queering the 'saying' of things; the 'making public' of conversations, quotation, etc.
well everything can't be perfect
