Public Domain Art is the lifeblood of small tabletop rpgs, but it can be a nightmare trying to find the right art and license. This week, I’ve re-uploaded my old list from 2020 (with updates) of public domain websites. That's 500,000+ public domain paintings, photos, maps, and film. Link below 🔗👇

Canada is refusing to issue ISBNs to books primarily generated with AI. This illustrates both the urgency of the problem of the growing flood of slop books, and also the toothlessness of addressing it on the honor system without there also being consequences for lying

Use of artificial intelligence
By registering with ISBN Canada, you declare that your book was created by a human author. You may use AI tools only for limited support tasks, such as brainstorming ideas, checking grammar, or formatting your book. You must not use AI to generate the text, create the artwork, or translate the book. ISBN Canada does not issue ISBNs for works whose content is primarily generated by AI. LAC is currently reviewing its policy regarding the use of AI content creation and our guidance is subject to change.

What do you do with the chains when reading a chained book?, I hear you ask. As of today, we'll put them into these little calico bags made by the broderers! Inspired by a conservator who told us she put it in a sock while working on one of our books.

When your home office tech setup is old enough that moving it from one room to another means it doesn't like you anymore. Docking station says nope. Probably time to see if work will replace it...

Trying Raspberry Mead by the Cornish Mead Co (though apparently it's mead inspired, rather than actual mead). Topping mine up with cream soda 🤣 Bought on honeymoon - inspired by this sign in a cafe...

A sign with a king-like figure in a chair drinking & text saying "Cornish Mead. The Honeymoon Drink".

Losing track of what shows are dropping when... So I have admitted defeat with my paper notebook & moved it over to my Todoist account. Made a start (mainly #blseries added so far). Will stick to paper for tracking completed shows.

This is one of those things I'm going to keep reposting until you're sick of it. It's not just because I want to make sure everyone sees it. I want everyone to see it multiple times. I want it in your long-term memories so that it's something you use and share and don't forget when you scroll away

Realised Goodreads hadn't logged the read dates for some books this year, so I've read more than I thought! 39 books (actually more than that due to Patreon books)... This is a lot more than I've managed for several years. Mainly thanks to gay, & not so gay, ice hockey romance books 😉🌶️

I just watched the finale & was not keen on that ending... Feels like undercutting everything, though dialogue hints at something different/more. I can see where it fits with earlier themes, so interested to see why people might like it...

Mr Fanboy does seem like it's going to be fun. All those cameos on the red carpet 😊 Obviously I'll watch the rest of JxJ to see where they go with it, hopefully it will be interesting. I'm just not fond of that particular trope... Though, having said that, I've just started kdrama Our Sticky Love 🤣

Catching up with a few #blseries while on holiday. Enjoyed Connecting to You so far & the concept of the coloured threads. Plus the Fourever You special eps. Particularly liked the ThitDao storyline. Higher stakes and more emotional core than you normally get from a specials ep. Plus ghosts.

We went on a lovely day trip to Penzance. I feel this pub sign was painted by a mediaeval style painter who had never seen a dolphin.

Pub sign for The Dolphin Tavern. Including a bright blue dolphin with frilly red fins & tail. It features red eyes and an evil expression!
