Librarian at Hereford Cathedral. Librarian cliche & loving it. Expect books, tea, crafts & cats. All views my own, in case it needs to be said. "She's the most librarian librarian I have ever seen."

Bit of a long shot, but do any of you UK weird Anglican Bluesky folks have a thurible stand that isn't in use and which you would be happy to donate? #CofEPeeps

Lovely annual visit to Hereford Cathedral & its stunning library. Great exhibition inspired by the 550th Caxton anniversary, including an incunable (printed in 1473) given to the cathedral in 1478.

Very pleased that I finally refound this @starshapedpress.bsky.social print, which has apparently been hiding on my bookshelf for months.

The new exhibition is in, which is a tiny miracle. Some lovely incunabula in it, so I'm very excited! But too tired to celebrate.

Right, time to pretend the world doesn't exist and write some *very* basic panels about printing & captions for some quite exceptional incunabula. Go, go, go!

Thinking about delegation this morning. How do you distinguish between legitimate delegation and asking/telling people to do things simply because you don't have the time? This is a genuine question, so I'd love to hear any thoughts.

I’m looking around for examples of Actual Play used by nonprofits (heritage orgs, academia, etc) I’m also trying to get a temp check on how it’s seen vs for-profit. From my comments (& general observation) it seems UK is leading the anglophone world in this one, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Here I am promoting the display of Elizabeth Blackwell's 'A Curious Herbal' in the pages of The Yorkshire Post. But why, of all the plants I could have gone with to highlight for our exhibition on folklore, magic, and medicine, have I chosen to look at something as everyday as a tomato?
A photo of me in a newspaper clipping. I am looking at an old book, open to a page with a colour illustration of a tomato plant.
