Bald Eagle 🦅 courtship cartwheel display involves a male and female eagle flying into the thermos where they grasp talons then glide in dramatic fashion back down, then break apart when they're nearing the ground. Afterwards they go to the nest to mate. They are monogamous

Campus rape is really widespread; statistics suggest a significant percent of women who go to college will be raped there; feminism opened up a good conversation about it around 2012-13; it's weird when people treated Cornell like an isolated rather than dramatic example of a pervasive problem.

This is seismic news for fisheries scientists. Northern cod is *the* iconic symbol of total fisheries collapse due to overfishing (and other factors) *and* the iconic symbol of a complete failure to recover for decades afterwards. This is like announcing the complete recovery of bison on land.

Subject has wings outstretched & its tail feathers are flared as it makes a turn in flight. One thing about scrub birds that I think is pretty cool is that they have a little shield over their nostrils which I suspect helps them prevent getting twigs up their noses as they scramble around in the super dense scrub they love 🛡️ it makes their nostrils point backwards 👃
