My experience was the opposite. The classes all looked similar because of the standardized power formatting. But in play, they all handled very differently and the different roles meant they never rarely if ever overlapped in functionality.

The problem with writing interpersonal drama, especially when teenagers are involved, is that so much actual drama is petty and ultimately pointless, and it's hard to know if I'm getting the readers enough into the characters' mindsets that they'll be willing to take it seriously.
