People who are willing to work for an intellectually-subnormal child-rapist who tried to violently overthrow the government while holding the office of the president and is now openly looting the public purse may not actually be in the strongest position to whine about "treason".

The world is on fire to make this man, and another ten or so men like him, even richer. Not one of them has the grace to kick back and enjoy their astonishing fortune. This one's been stuck in an office reinventing tamagotchi and being mocked for it. By any measure, I am having a better year.

Bizarre things that happened in your assembly: the head ran a Blockbusters style game show and my little brother spent the entire half hour answering every (admittedly trivial) question so he could finally get to the other corner of the board and say delightedly "I'll have a pee please Bob".

@support.blizzard.com not only doesn't WOWF work, which I can kinda live with from a beta, it won't let me run Classic updates because Classic thinks WOWF is running *all the time*. So I'm paying you for two games, and the one that is beta so OK I get it has taken down the allegedly stable one

The idea that a street-gang of masked vigilantes must be allowed to violently attack the police, lifeboat volunteers and vulnerable refugees is really not a neutral or mainstream position and the BBC trying to make it one is not impartial news reporting.

Look, I want to defend the BBC as an institution but they make it very difficult. When the right comes to attack it, as they will, there will hardly be anyone there to defend it.

I know people really want to resist this idea, but there’s an increasing pile of evidence that lots of people in positions of power aren’t trying to do some delicate balancing act to keep the peace, but simply agree with the aims and to an extent the actions of the fascists.

I think, on the contrary, that the UK right is pulling off a successful "Mutt and Jeff strategy" (as described by darling of the MAGA movement Curtis Yavin). A handful of street thugs, sympathetically publicised as a mass movement by the media, are one plank of this strategy 1/2

Dolly Parton gave a lot of kids a lot of books. No argument. In the last three hours I have seen very confident statements about how many books, and how many kids, differ by orders of magnitude. So. A lot of kids got a lot of books. Even the people who loved her for it seem to have no idea how many.

Oddly, in an oddly normal sort of way. Magic the Gathering (Arena) is set in a multiverse which includes our Earth but also has Avengers, Dr Who, Walking Dead, TMNT and hobbits in. So either I stay where I am with extra superheroes and zombies (hmm), or I go live in The Shire (hurrah).

The reason to not defund all the pillars of a functioning society to save money is that society collapses and no money is saved. The reason to not spend all the money on police and tax breaks for wealthy pricks is then the wealthy pricks have everything in a police state designed to protect them.

This point needs to be made over and again: The main purpose of wealth taxes should not be to raise revenue. That's a small and secondary benefit. The main purpose should be to *reduce the fortunes of the ultrarich*. Why? Because those fortunes present a massive threat to democracy and public life.

CEO spots that his business needs to make a profit or go bankrupt. Can confirm this is how money works. Probably the next CEO should experience this revelation *before* spending several hundred billion dollars, and maybe check there's some sort of "market" willing to "pay" for the product first.

In the scheme of things the Trump Crime Syndicate fucking up a pond, a lawn and a building isn't as big a deal as murdering Iranian schoolgirls, Minnesotan mums and Venezuelan fishermen. But a venture built on pure symbolism and bluster falls down if it can't even do the symbolism right.
