I created a song called Supervillain a bit different from my usual genre. I’m not releasing it for another few months but I had fun, got really excited about it and wanted to share. As per all Samira Sulley songs, Original lyrics by me. AI for the vocals and instrumentation:

God Says Yes to Me ~ Kaylin Haught "what I'm telling you is Yes Yes Yes"
Kaylin Haught
GOD SAYS YES TO ME

I asked God if it was okay to be melodramatic and she said yes
I asked her if it was okay to be short
and she said it sure is
I asked her if I could wear nail polish
or not wear nail polish and
she said honey
she calls me that sometimes
she said you can do just exactly what you want to
Thanks God I said
And is it even okay if I don't paragraph
my letters
Sweetcakes God said
who knows where she picked that up
what I'm telling you is
Yes Yes Yes

We Have Enough Dead Friends
by Lena Oleanderson

Come over. The doors are open,
my flat’s a mess and
so is my heart
but the doors are always open.
Come over. I will make soup,
probably from frozen but
the important thing is
we will both eat.

You don’t have to be dying,
but if you are,
or you feel like you are,
or if living’s been hard,
call me, and I will show up.
It doesn’t have to be that bad,
it doesn’t have to be bad at all,
but if it is, please call.

Do you want me to do the groceries?
Do you want me to mop the floors?
Do you need to be held;
you don’t have to be dying to be held.
If you want me to be there, I want to.

I’m on the bathroom floor again,
and breathing is hard,
and eating’s been hard, and sleeping,
the world is a laden thing
rolling around on my chest lately.
Just being alive is heavy tonight,
but we have enough dead friends.
Come over.

My #poem for #PromptCombo #Bestiary this week; Each-usige, a kelpie or waterhorse. Not a friend of any young girl by the side of the loch... Thanks @janpsolivagant.bsky.social ant.bsky.social for a challenging theme! #poetrycommunity #poetry
Each-uisge

you sit and watch me
from under the water
follow my movement
the way my hair
catches on sunlight
you cannot embrace

I see you
know you are there
feel the cold of the loch
a shape
waiting to ride out
across the land

I sit and watch you
you have tried this before
I did not fall
fail or falter
and will not now

Slow Horses by S. Reeson

light remains the same for everybody
it can be fooled and masked but
on the canvas the only difference
becomes the number of the beast
of burden yoked to inspiration
that exposure’s far too brief
as each counter’s winding down
this was always immortality
the means to cheat the dawn
to become majestic form
time to slow things down
be the happy horse
find your field and
settle for
a soul that shows
that the key is
to be the
process at
peace to
simply
be
.

I can’t even lie, the inspiration behind this poem was very odd 😅 Someone in front of me in line at a gas station dropped a pack of orbit gum they were buying. Yeah, odd 😂 Anyways, until the next verse 😊✍🏻 #poetry #poetrycommunity #freeverse #writingcommunity #writing #tenshipoems #poet
My poem called Orbit.

…

I sensed someone in my orbit.
An unknown object hurtling towards me,
an unknown person getting near.

As my eyes cracked open,
a technicolor nebula blinded me.
But in its center,
I could see it—

a familiar silhouette dancing about.

Though blinded by the light,
my eyes were now wide open…

watching the stars dance with you.

#vss365 #putter #poetry #blueskypoet Walking on eggshells meant something very different to her. Here is a #poem...
Inheritance

Her hands stumble
Where they used to glide
Over white speckled garden soil

She is perennial
Puttering over peonies
And pansies

Her beds have raised
As her age has risen
The knees are unforgiving

A hum here
A whistle there
And she forgets the hours

My hands stumble
Where her's used to glide
Not age, but inexperience

I give a whistle here
And a hum there
And she stays perennial

My thoughts on the "autistic people will never write a poem" bs.
I don't write poems.

I just
repeat what the
water tells me. I keep
secrets the rocks whisper. Laugh at
bird jokes.

Listen
when the night air
carries a song from the
stars. Thank the grasshoppers for their
greetings.
Let my hands read the stories the
soil has held for so long.
Try to pass them
to you.

But no,
definitely
no poems have ever
been written by me. Why would you
think that?

Look at me! I wrote a poem this morning! "My Fabulous Wings" When I was young There were no flights on Sundays And the aerodrome would close Becoming dog-walk, bird-watch, picnic country For the town... (the rest is in the image and alt text) #amwriting #poem #FirstDraft
My Fabulous Wings

When I was young
There were no flights on Sundays
And the aerodrome would close
Becoming dog-walk, bird-watch, picnic country
For the town.
I couldn’t watch the planes
But then at dusk when everyone had gone
I would sneak on and run
Along the airstrip jumping,
Throwing back my head; I’d flap my arms,
My tiny wings.
If only they were bigger I would fly.
Even now, a lifetime further on
I run across the grass,
My arms spread out to catch the sky,
Thinking: I’ll need a wide coffin
For these enormous wings.
My fabulous wings.

Support
Sometimes I search myself for a sign,
when I air my sorrows in the sunshine.
This bright light in the sky won’t bleach my soul,
fails even for a moment to console.
But then in the shade my darling awaits,
talks so softly of love she lifts my weights,
from heavy shoulders bent from world’s affair,
this life daily propelled by those who care.

whew, this Marge Piercy poem
UNCLENCH YOURSELF

Open, love.
I tell you we are able
now and then gently
with hands and feet
cold even as fish
to curl into a tangle
and grow a single hide,
slowly to unknit all other skin
and rest in flesh
entire.
Come all the way in, love,
it is a river
with a strong current
but its brown waters
will not drown you.
Let go.
Do not hold out
your head.
The currents know the bottom
better than your feet.
You will find
that in this river
we can breathe
and under water see
small gardens and bright fish
too tender
for the air.
