I think that restricting access to ADHD medication is silly. Imagine AF8. We talk about the biggest hazard in an emergency being people... now imagine people with suddenly unmedicated ADHD who had no ability to get an emergency supply.

Regretfully, I was intending to clean and tidy my house today and I've been swept off my feet by a migraine and it's associated fatigue. It needs done so badly... I can't decide if I push through and crash tomorrow instead of go to work, or rest now. Both work and home are important.

Exhausted and crashy... and our support worker is sick. Healthcare New Zealand have still failed after 6 weeks to organise an alternative plan for my kōtiro for when this happens, this is something like the 5th missed session in those 6 weeks.

Periodic reminder that *anticipation* of mistreatment is just as much a barrier to seeking healthcare as actual experiences of mistreatment. When people avoid healthcare to protect themselves they miss out on both preventive medicine & also the therapeutic relationship that might address those fears

So apparently you are unable to access a needs assessment if your qualifying condition was diagnosed via telehealth, which means that even though I just paid $700 for the only form of diagnosis I could afford and access, and even through it found me to be autistic, I cannot get help.

I didn't think this was controversial but a basic need of everyone living in NZ is, in fact, to be aware of natural hazards around you and have plans for your household or workplace in the event that there is an emergency and comms don't work. Don't expect to be able to load the website after AF8.

(1)

For all the purposes of the law of New Zealand a person shall attain full age on attaining the age of 20 years.

In the absence of a definition or of any indication of a contrary intention, the expressions adult, full age, infant, infancy, minor, minority, full capacity, majority, and similar expressions in any enactment or instrument shall be construed in accordance with subsection (1).

This section shall not affect any reference in any enactment or instrument to an age expressed in years.
