What other game are you gonna play where the tips and tricks section just links to the Japanese agricultural board’s primer on Edo Period rice farming

46 Okunen Monogatari is weird mix of Dragon Quest, New Age and Stapledon-esque sci-fi. I don't know anything similar to this (except E.V.O.: Search for Eden but it's not that strange)

Saw on the train today, Fukushima prefecture is doing a tourism campaign in partnership with Square-Enix, promoting Final Fantasy-like landscapes & touristic spots. Cute stuff, I only found the 1st one in good quality.

Try only FXAA for sharper image on 480p of Software Renderer. Maybe better Anisotropic Filtering from Nvidia Control Panel can help. But it's better to just use a different API for higher resolution.

No. Just use FXAA and Scanline Filter (with Integer Scaling) for better graphic on Software Renderer

I love Chinese & Taiwanese Wuxia RPGs, not only for the cool martial arts setting but also for playing differently from Western & Japanese RPGs. I often get asked for recommendations. I had a big thread on Twitter, so here's a new one! Here's my favorites available in English (officially or not) 🧵

But HANG ON, it gets weirder. Two. Remember the Butcher in Diablo? I saw it in Ancient Evil and thought "ah a reference". Well, no. Trial By Magic did it first in '95: a chef cooking and eating human meat who welcomes the player with "fresh meat". See my reaction. Blizzard...?? Were you uh...??

I think it's more like «early 3D expressionism»

Lol, this chart is fucking hilarious. King's Field is not connected to soulslikes. Dark Souls evolved from western action RPGs. Isometric RPGs didn't change anything.

every “ancient tradition” was invented between 1848-1870 and every “modern perversion” is so ancient as to predate writing

Yesterday, I uploaded the ISO image of one of the rarest videogames known to exist, of which a single copy is known to exist in the online world. After years of appeals, its owner finally agreed to share it with me so that I could in turn share it with the world.

Neuro Hunter Something between System Shock 2 and Gothic. Mid gameplay, poor visual design, terrible dialogues and surprisingly hardcore hacking mini-game

Она в начале 10-х была уже не та, что раньше: WB провела крайне масштабные сокращения в трёх студиях (Surreal, Snowblind и Monolith), а то, что осталось, слили в Monolith
