To be a hardcore retro video game collector you must have a fuckton of money and also no taste in decor at all. In fact your taste begins with lightstrips and ends with a giant backlit box that says GAMECUBE on it

Saw a random 9x9 that was nothing but wii u games and roblox and figured that they must be 20 years old but their bio said they were 33. Didn't know this was possible. Most interesting one i've seen so far.

Barely realizing that Jin Saotome did the gimmick of being a pilot who fights outside of their "vehicle" in a crossover game before Captain Falcon. Hmm. Even has a big punch too. Hmm.

Enjoying God Hand a lot but I am struggling to decide whether or not I like the difficulty system. Lvl 1 & 2 feel tooooo easy, but lvl DIE is tooooo hard lol. I wish I could stay locked at 3 for now I think. But it is very interesting to have such an in your face adaptive difficulty to manipulate.

My issue with a lot of "old game good vs new game bad" discourse is that it usually ends with ppl talking about how ppl have always complained about new games, "they called mvc2 a baby game too!" Etc etc, which yes true, but it also plays ignorant with the obvious design trends of the modern fighter

The RE3 Remake sucks in context to the original game but as a game itself it's just feels like a RE2 Remake mini campaign, so it irks me when I see people who haven't played the original (& don't plan to) disparage the remake based on context they have never engaged with! Complicated feelings here.

Seems bizarre to think about now but that first 2011 playthrough of Dark Souls 1 on the 360 with no knowledge of anything was one of the most visceral gaming experiences ever. Shit made me genuinely feel desolate. But every bonfire was such a huge achievement. I miss that ignorance!

Every game in a series that comes out today by a major company must be a complete reimagining and must scope creep beyond its core audience and be able be everyone's first game and must be 100 hours long and take 10 years to develop and cost $80 forever
