One time Sergey Brin asked me a weird question about shark science! He was concerned about sharks by his favorite beach, and asked why we didn't create a network of drones to patrol the whole coastline. I pointed out that doing this would cost several times the entire annual NSF budget.

It is probably topical that I am waiting for a menopause hacking talk at #emfcamp while wearing the powered neck cooling unit I was able to let myself buy because it operates on a cool niche semiconductor principle (peltier effect 🤓). It's easier to buy myself tech toys than assistive tech.

11 years since I did my first wet lab placement (the sort of lab with liquids and chemistry rather than electromagnets: not my home turf back then) and made them biscuits to say thanks. There was a lot of work with crucibles and some with barium cobalt nitride. #Science #Baking #chemistry
