'It's hard to judge the games the same way once you try to make one' Is so real. Some people have a hard time saying something sucks once they've been there. I'll still say it, but outside a few examples, it's almost affection. The context and conditions of creation matter so much.

Giving an indie game a "thumbs down" negative review is LITERALLY a punishment. In many cases due to how the Steam algorithm works, it is a capital one. If a game just wasn't for you, or you have some feedback, please just post on the forums! Save the "thumbs down" for AI slop and other offenses.

Things about Hope have been a little quiet lately, but not because I stopped working on it. I actually got about halfway through implementing Ep 1 before realizing that the spaceship didn’t feel like one cohesive place. So I paused the storyline for a bit and gave the ship a makeover. 🧵

I think what’s been most satisfying about Bluesky is the lack of constant rage-baiting Scrolling through Twitter was TIRING because it seemed like everyone was mad all the time. It’s refreshing to see people just share their joy without having to elicit any sort of anger

Lessons from today's prototyping meetup #gamedesign 1. Build the middle of your game first. Can you play your own game for 40-60 minutes? Then figure out how to teach that. Tutorials reveal the known fun, they don't find the fun.

Devs I am begging you for more contrast accessibility visual options in your games for those of us with garbage eyeballs. I see so many beautiful, graphically dense games where the player and enemies just sort of fade into the background, becoming part of the scenery, and it really strains my eyes
