Cobrar 5000€/mes trabajando la mitad de horas, más tiempo libre y calidad de vida, menos consumismo, mientras conseguimos limitar el cambio climático a los 1.8C frente a los 4C que podemos alcanzar a este paso. No suena maravilloso?! 🤩 Lo mejor de todo es que es posible. Como? 👇

What is happening in the US is utterly terrifying. Read this anonymous letter from a voice within the US federal research system. www.bmj.com/content/388/...

Anger, despair, and defiance from a voice within the US federal research system
People around the world are watching with disbelief as the new US government closes down its aid programme, withdraws from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Paris agreement on climate change, deletes datasets that do not fit with its ideology, refuses to pay adequate overhead to universities—so halting research and bankrupting many, and insists that certain words are not used in federal documents, including federally funded research. The words that must not be used include bias, biased, women or female, and it’s impossible to see how scientifically valid research can be conducted without these words: we won’t, for example, be able to write about risk of bias in a sample of women, who make up half the population. The speed with which this has been done has created the intended shock and awe among the opposition, which has been slow to respond. What is happening upends everything we have been taught about the checks and balances of our nation. We begin now to see opposition, not least from journals and lobbying groups. But one group you may not hear from are those inside the federal system. You have not heard from us because we are terrified of the response—not just having our research cancelled and being summarily dismissed, but also set upon …

🧵"So this is how liberty dies..." Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up. I’ve gone through 69 actions & mapped out the pattern - showing how they fall within 5 broad domains consistent with authoritarian states 1/9
This is a venn diagram showing how 69 Trump actions map onto domains covering: undermining democratic institutions; suppressing dissent and media; dismantling social protections; attacking science and education; destabilising the global order. A graph of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations at the Mauna Loa observatory, Hawaii, from 1958 to 4th February 2025. It shows carbon dioxide levels rising at an accelerating rate over the decades. This is known to be due to emissions of carbon dioxide from human activity, mainly fossil fuel burning but also deforestation. The first CO2 concentration value in March 1958 was 315 parts per million (ppm). The latest daily value is 426 ppm. The graph also shows a seasonal cycle of a few ppm within each year, which is known to be linked to the growing season in the northern hemisphere causing a temporary uptake of carbon in spring and summer and release in autumn. The graph is produced routinely by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego.
