Really excited to share our new paper out today in Nature, led by Alex Fajardo. We show that exotic conifers grow up to 4x faster than in their native ranges. Despite this, they are also more drought resistant, defying a tradeoff between growth and stress tolerance. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

New Paper! We quantify changes in global albedo from 2001. Land surface reflectivity has changed Earth’s albedo for >10% of global land from 2001 to 2020, producing darkening equivalent to 7.0% of CO2-induced warming. Strong tundra and desert signals. agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/...

A new paper on Deadwood fungal diversity out today, lead author @vincentbuness.bsky.social. We show that deadwood quantity, quality, and forest harvesting control deadwood fungal diversity. Old unmanaged forests are very important reservoirs for fungal diversity, especially red listed taxa.
