When does a book become a classic? D.K. Broster's 1925 best-bromance-ever "The Flight of the Heron"? Or #TristramShandy if you want a proper classic—the novel that out-novel'd all other novels, w Toby Shandy & Corporal Trim stealing every scene.

Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

The one volume OED. It's maybe lagging a bit on recent neologisms, but the definitions are generally sound and the examples straightforward. Dirt cheap on ABE Books or World of Books.

Bodies of Magic: OUT NOW! Grey's Anatomy meets A Deadly Education, a mystery set during the final exam week of a magical medical school. (Or: five queer nerds solve a murder and have some feelings.) Buy US: bit.ly/BoM-US Buy UK: bit.ly/BoM-UK

A book cover for Bodies of Magic by Freya Markse. A deep blue building with a quadrangle, spires and cloisters fills the lower half of the cover with the title text in gold across it. Behind that, the upper background is grey and stormy with a prominent twisting white design that could be a bare tree rising up from the main tower OR an anatomical diagram of the lungs. Centered above the lung-tree are the words DO NO HARM in stark white. Honestly: a complete banger of a cover.

A technician in a white cleanroom suit holds a small American flag next to two gold-colored discs on a table. In the background, the Voyager 2 spacecraft is mounted on a white support structure.A white rocket with two side boosters ascends into a clear blue sky, leaving a bright white trail of exhaust and smoke behind it. The scene is framed by dark silhouettes of tree branches on the left and right.

This should be self evident but clearly isn’t. From @lewisgoodall.com
The problem is not that higher education has failed as an engine of social mobility. It is that, for too long, it has been treated as the only engine. The curriculum is not the problem which is driving our NEET malaise; the weakness of local economies is. Any Labour administration should therefore tread very carefully before dismantling any part of the comprehensive educational settlement created by the Labour governments of the 1960s. Burnham's proposals also misunderstand the multi-layered nature of the modern university, which in many cases is as likely to offer vocational courses as strictly academic ones.
In any case, let's stop the obsession with STEM subjects and
"practical" training. There is already too much snobbery in the assumption that working-class students are somehow less interested in the arts and humanities. And we've never needed those graduates more. In an age in which we are already outsourcing so much of our critical thinking to machines, and in which none of us can be entirely sure of the truth of what we see, where the world's complexity is ever deepening, subjects like philosophy, history, political science, linguistics, classics and literature have rarely been more important.
I'm sure our English graduate prime minister might agree.
