Maybe you’re right but the IEA WEO Stated Policy Scenario is not agressiv in general and does not include China’s commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions before 2060. In that sense it is unambiguous regarding coal consumption reduction.

Trump has announced tariffs on 213 countries but left out Russia "because U.S. sanctions already preclude any meaningful trade". Yet there are only 61 countries in the world that export more to the U.S. than Russia. Not really a shocker but the math isn't mathing.

000
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
Nej.
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
000
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
100
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025
200
Kaare Sandholt @sandholt.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

How about these? China’s energy system in 2022 and in 2060 according to China Energy Transformation Outlook 2024. Electrification and a green power sector substitute fossil fuels and reduces losses. Admittedly, the energy efficiency gains in the end use sector are only represented indirectly.
