The people who love AI are the same people who think everything is just a box to be checked. "Ope, it's a rule we gotta work on suicide prevention. Let's just hit the AI button on that and we'll be good to go! Next!" Nevermind we're trying to keep our servicefolk from offing themselves. Whatever.

I haven't seen any news coverage yet of Cameron Hamilton's announcement that he has re-defined the entire field of emergency management to include only preparedness and response activities related to coordinating police, fire, and EMS. Seems like something that should get some attention.

I know it pales beside the naked pay-for-play, but the whole reason PACs can spend as much as they want is because they're legally not allowed to coordinate with campaigns, which have fundraising limits, and literally no one seems to be denying that Collins and the 1820 PAC are clearly coordinated.

Improving Maine’s Prisons
An early look at correctional transformation in Maine shows promise. While there is more work to do, other states should consider adopting similar reforms for their own systems.

New UNH survey has a result I find genuinely surprising. Don't think media can influence opinion? Well, somehow, essentially every Republican in the state believes that "election fraud" is a problem, while essentially zero Democrats have that opinion.
Data shows Republicans basically all believe election fraud is a problem, while democrats don't think it's a problem at all.

It's just so disingenuous to suggest you're unique in thinking of pinching pennies on municipal budgets. Just say which programs and people you don't want to fund anymore. Which ones? Who? Budgets go up unless you cut services or people. That's the only way they don't go up.

I basically answer every survey call, since I want to know what the pollsters are poking around on, but the surveys this cycle are BRUTAL. Essentially all push polls that are impossible to take in less than 20 minutes. There's no way that data is worth anything.
