Like, ultimately if folks dislike the music that's fine, I literally don't care. Art is subjective. But let's live in reality at least. I do think a lot of it was a bot driven smear campaign against films on the left. But it still alarms me just how successful it was.

and don't get me started on the lightning bolts on merch that was for a song with lightning strikes as a key lyric being interpreted as SS imagery. If I seem unhinged on here about her sometimes, it's because I've ✨seen some shit✨ in the trenches.

The discourse after her last album came out was unhinged. Describing the night sky as onyx was called racist; her looking forward to having kids that looked like her husband was called eugenics and pushing trad wife bullshit (like she hadn't already had a massively successful career on her own)

Is it her best work? No. It wasn't meant to be. But as a long time fan of previous works like, "ME!" and a firm believer that "Opalite" is not in fact a Nazi dog whistle, but a fun, inspirational pop song for people who aren't chronically online, this ain't my first rodeo.

for fucking REAL. the depth of trauma for those undiagnosed with ADHD is real. not just the way we feel like we're constantly failing (because everyone is telling us we are) but not understanding WHY because we have no context to understand other people aren't struggling with the things we are.

Okay I need help. Im once again in washing machine purgatory. I have three sheets in the washer and it keeps going off balance. I've tried spreading them out in a circle on top of each other so the weight distribution would be even, no luck. I tried putting them evenly around in a circle separately,
