A beautiful Fall morning along the lake for a taper time long run. This is much nicer than summer time running. 😁

There are a lot of Trump officials who need to be impeached, but Russell Vought -- the quarterback of all the Project 2025 fuckery and a central player in the administration's overreach -- really needs to be at the top of the list.

Michael Tracey wants it to be known that he was *not* trying to "doxx" the victim of a horrible gang rape, he was merely trying to expose her identity and reveal it to their entire world. They're very different things, you see.
Someone described as a "CNN Creator" put out this video claiming I called for the "doxxing" of Jane Doe, and now a nationwide movement has been sparked against me. I NEVER CALLED FOR "DOXXING." CNN APPARENTLY OPPOSES WHAT IS CALLED "REPORTING" ON CLAIMANTS IN CIVIL PROCEEDINGS

Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good. I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

I’m researching Durupinar, which is back in the news as the supposed remains of Noah’s Ark. It has quite a cast of characters! Throughout today, I’ll introduce some of them—from the captain who spotted it in an aerial photograph to the folks behind Noah’s Ark Scans. #NoahsArk
The so-called Durupinar formation in eastern Turkey is pictured here. It is a boat shaped natural geological formation surrounded by hills

John Roberts' friend and defender is quoted in the piece, saying they shouldn't be shaming Roberts for the wreckage and ruin he's brought to this country because of "civility." The bullies always cry "civility" when the victims push back in the slightest.

Quite surprised at what a thin piece it is with a facile take on 'messiness of conversation.' Don't know about others but I have no idea what I really think about something until I've written & rewritten. I think through writing, incredibly hard and a pain in the arse, but that's just how it is.

Believe it or not, a lot of people do not have to-do lists. And the the lists many of them have are not structured for an ai agent to be helpful. This isn’t groundbreaking. If you have ever watched the evening news or read even a single story about people who aren’t like you, it is pretty basic

Every time I see somebody claim that AI is a benign tool not to blame for a larger ethical crisis, I note that before it existed, filing a brief full of made-up citations and quotes was not something attorneys ever did. Now, there are hundreds of cases, and only because of this benign tool.

It's nice that people are agreeing with this, but let's not forget that our entire educational system, including in universities, is effectively organized against helping students learn how to read books in their entirety.

Campus rape is really widespread; statistics suggest a significant percent of women who go to college will be raped there; feminism opened up a good conversation about it around 2012-13; it's weird when people treated Cornell like an isolated rather than dramatic example of a pervasive problem.
