I'm travelling in First Class on the Highland Chieftain. I enjoyed a very nice frittata for lunch. Currently running 32 minutes late, so I get food and drink and some lovely delay repay!

At what point are we going to admit that the Oxford Traffic Filters, at least in their current form, simply do not work? 25 minutes to get from George Street to Frideswide Square, a distance of less than half a mile, all because all the city's traffic is now focused on one road.

After Botley Road reopened last week, the traffic through the city centre has been awful. The traffic filters are going to focus all traffic into the city on Botley Road, and make that route a total nightmare.

Halifax station was once a lot bigger than it is now. The old station building is no longer in railway use, and some of the old platforms are now a grassed area. Part of the old platform is still visible under the bridge.

The Metropolitan Line was having some issues around Baker Street this morning. The train from Uxbridge terminated at Harrow-on-the-Hill and many people squeezed into a Chiltern service to Marylebone. And when I say 'squeezed', I literally couldn't move for the entire journey!

Ok, so a gripe I have is when I pull up at a bus stop and a cyclist, instead of overtaking the bus on the road, goes up onto the pavement and almost knocks down the passengers getting off the bus. It's like having a floating bus stop, but much worse.

Over on Instagram, the far-right are taking the news that an RAC mechanic was sacked for pulling over while on duty and wearing company uniform, to talk to and have his photo taken with Ryan 'Squeaky' Bridge of Raise The Colours about as well as you could expect. 😐
A screenshot of hateful comments left on an RAC Instagram post. 'You hate the English flag, joke of a company, sacking the the guy for stopping to say hello to someone putting up flags of our own country' are just a few of the remarks here. Others accuse the RAC of being traitors (that's a typical far-right talking point).
