In TX 06 Rick Perry had 2 independent opponents. Kinky Friedman, a pop culture figure, and Carol Keeton Strayhorn, a former statewide elected Republican. Both discouraged primary voting as it dq’d a voter from signing their ballot access petitions. And the Dem candidate was a dud w/o a real primary.

A federal immigration official shot and injured a man in Austin on Sunday afternoon, according to the Austin American-Statesman. The man was transported to a hospital. His identity and condition are currently unknown. It’s not immediately clear what led up to the shooting. bit.ly/4cV0CSU
